At Chanakya Higher Secondary School, discipline and responsibility are the cornerstones of our academic environment. The following rules and regulations are established to maintain a safe, respectful, and productive atmosphere for all students, staff, parents, and visitors. We expect every member of our school community to adhere to these guidelines with sincerity and integrity.
1. Students should work with all their classmates and obey their teachers to achieve optimal outcome.
2. All students must be punctual for class. Attendance will be taken before the start of each period.
3. Students must not to leave the classroom without teachers’ permission.
4. Keep the classroom clean and neat at all times.
5. Consumption of food and beverages are not allowed inside the classroom.
6. Use of any form of electronic gadgets is prohibited.
7. Students should always wear uniform to class and carry their college Identity card.
8. Hair must be kept neat and tidy at all times. Fancy hair styling, tinting, dyeing, highlighting and bleaching of hair are strictly prohibited.
9. A minimum of 75% attendance is compulsory to be eligible to appear in the examination.
10. Students are expected to bring the books and notes according to the time-table.
11. Students should take their examinations with utmost honesty.
12. Students are allowed to go out of class for the purpose of drinking water, urinal and toilet only during break.
1. Students can’t be called to the office to attend to phone calls during class hours.
2. Parents are requested not to compel the teachers to give private tuitions to their ward as it is not permitted.
3. Parents/Guardians are not permitted to enter classrooms to meet their wards or to seek unscheduled interviews with teachers during class hours.
(In special cases, parents may be allowed to meet the teachers with prior permission from the principal/ academic in charge.)
4. For the best result parents must motivate and support their ward to establish a proper study environment in their respective hostel rooms.
5. Parents should ensure that their wards do not bring any objectionable books, magazine, Cell phones, iPods, CD, DVD, e-games, pen drives, cameras, music players, picture or any other material that may violate the disciplinary norms of the College. Otherwise the same will be destroyed in the presence of the student.
6. Parents are also requested to ensure that their wards, if they want to, may bring sweets/chocolates for distribution, only on birthdays.
7. Parents are requested to inform the college if there is any change in address/ telephone/mobile numbers.
8. Please do not give mobile phone to your child. If student is found carrying a mobile phone, it will be confiscated and a heavy fine will be imposed.
9. Parents are requested to visit the college website regularly for updates (especially for non-scheduled holidays).
10. Encourage your ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
11. Criticism of a teacher of the college in presence of a student must be scrupulously avoided as it causes students to lose respect for their teacher with the consequent failure to learn from teacher, thus retarding the student’s progress.
12. Any communication that parents wish to make with the college should be made on A-4 sheet and must be addressed to the Principal. E-mail is the most preferred form of communication.(info.chanakyaconnect@gmail.com)
1. Students must come to college in neatly laundered uniform and polished shoes. The hair should be trimmed and the nails must be cut regularly. Girls with long hair should make plaits.
2. Every student is required to carry the college identity card each day of the school.
3. Students are not allowed to use college phones without permission.
4. Respect for college property and college belongings is an absolute must.
5. In the event of collective damage to college property in class room, the entire class will be charged the cost of damage. A vigilant outlook should be maintained towards keeping the surroundings clean. All waste papers should be picked up and thrown into the dustbin.
6. Gaming, any dangerous instrument, tobacco products, alcoholic drinks, chewing gum, banned food items are completely banned inside the campus. Any student found in the act violation of the above mentioned rule will be subjected to serious disciplinary action and may face temporary suspension and in worse case expulsion from the college if the degree of violation is incorrigible.
7. Crackers, fireworks and any other inflammable material are completely banned inside the campus.
8. Students are not allowed to leave the class without class out-pass and without permission of the teacher. While moving in between the classes in the corridors and while using the staircases all must keep to the left. Students should move in a way that no other student is disturbed.
9. A student must speak in decent language all the time. He must ensure that his speech is courteous and polite.
10. Any notice put up in college must be conveyed to parent/guardian.
11. English is second language for most of us, but it is also a medium of instruction. In order to acquire proficiency in spoken English, all students must try their best to converse in English in college (and in hostel as far as possible).
12. A student must extend due courtesy and respect to all members of staff. Respect of elders and affection for juniors should be soundly inculcated. Every student is expected to uphold the name & honor of the college.
13. Cheering and clapping are allowed on specific occasions only.
14. Students must report any incident of bullying and ragging to the teachers immediately.
1. All the hostel students are directed to maintain high degree of discipline in and outside the hostel, because we give strong emphasis on discipline and decorum
2. All students should maintain harmonious relationship with each other students.
3. All students must wake up before 6 A.M. in the morning.
4. They are not allowed to go outside hostel premises without the permission of hostel-in-charge except college timing and tutorial timing.
5. Parents/Relatives are not allowed to visit inside the hostel premises, without the permission of the hostel-in-charge .They can meet the students at a particular time fixed by the Chanakya Management at the College only.
6. Students should maintain a neat & clean environment in their rooms.
7. Electrical equipments like iron, heater etc. are not allowed in the hostel. If found the student will be fined and the equipment will be seized.
8. If anyone damages furniture or other assets he/she will be fined in proportion to the degree of damages.
9. Students should switch off the lights & fans when they leave their rooms.
10. All the students should keep shoes at one place near the door.
11. Stringent action will be taken against those who smoke or consume any tobacco and alcoholic products.
12. Any kind of antisocial activity will not be tolerated at any cost.
13. Students must always keep their rooms, beds and belongings tidy and neat. Weekly inspection will be done to check whether the same is maintained or not.
14. The management has the right to change or introduce the rules & regulations from time to time for the better functioning of the college and welfare of the students.
